Why Climate Data Matters
Data plays an important role in tackling climate change. But which data is relevant? How is the data collected, shared and used? And what are the dangers of collecting this data? Find out how data helps us to deal with climate change, what limits exist and which contributions you can make every day.
During the interactive panel discussion “Why Climate Data Matters” moderated by Vera Eichenauer, we talk together with three experts from the field about opportunities and threats of collecting and using data to tackle climate change. Further, we explore which climate data is not available and how this could be changed.
Topics we cover:
- Measurement of climate impact of corporations or regions
- Evaluation of one’s personal CO2 Footprint and the role of peer to peer comparison
- Relevant climate indicators for Switzerland and the effect of the current pandemic on production- and consumption-based CO2 emissions
- If you have questions or topics you want us to discuss, reach out: info@datacafe.ch
Experts on the panel:
– Kathrin Dellantonio, MyClimate
– Carla Gross, BAFU
– Regula Hess, QPerior and Foraus
(Unfortunately, Dr. Bjarne Steffen is unable to attend.)
